ABOUT US

H&L Yamadori

In 1994, Ruud Lagas founded Lagas Bonsai, which, by its 25th anniversary in 2019, had blossomed into a premier destination for yamadori bonsai enthusiasts across Europe. Renowned for its exceptional collection of bonsai and as a hub for bonsai cultivation knowledge, the nursery in Vught drew numerous bonsai associations and renowned demonstrators. However, due to personal circumstances, Ruud was compelled to dissolve his cherished yamadori nursery post-celebration.

During these fruitful years, I secured the necessary permissions and permits to cultivate and collect in the mountains legally. This groundwork paved the way for Martin Huizer to propose a collaborative venture in 2020. By 2022, our joint efforts in bonsai growing and yamadori cultivation were beginning to flourish, culminating in the creation of H&L YAMADORI, a VOF dedicated to advancing the art and practice of yamadori bonsai.
